Downtown Wellen and the Grand Lake
Most days in Wellen Park start or end in Downtown Wellen, the lakefront town center on the 80-acre Grand Lake. Walk the 2.8 miles of lakeside paths, grab a seat under the oaks, play ping-pong on the lakefront plaza, or catch live music at Solis Hall. Sunday farmers market
The Fresh Harvest Farmers Market sets up in Downtown Wellen every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with produce, seafood, plants, flowers and specialty foods. Vendors rotate, so it’s different from week to week.
Braves spring training at CoolToday Park
CoolToday Park, in Wellen Park’s Playmore district, is the spring training home of the Atlanta Braves. Outside of spring training the ballpark hosts festivals and other events, which show up in the event list on this page when they’re announced.
Trails and the outdoors
Wellen Park has more than 40 miles of trails and pathways. For a longer ride, the paved Legacy Trail runs just under 20 miles from Venice to downtown Sarasota, and the North Port Connector Trail links it to North Port.
